西山村位于沙埔镇境内，村庄两面环山，靠近西南角的海面，先人开垦此地时取名西山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村地历史上归崇德乡平南里管辖，后改隶高山镇六一乡赤礁保一带，并随龙潭乡的沿革几经变动。[1]

1959年，龙潭大队中析出西山、南西山、北西山三个自然村，成立西山大队。1981年归沙埔公社，1984年设沙埔乡西山村委会，1992年随乡改镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，西山村被授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2022年12月，又被评为「2022年度福州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
