西叶村位于沙埔镇境内，村中的龙潭寺是龙潭寺革命据点旧址所在地。村名中的「叶」取自村中仅存的叶姓，「西」则因村舍位于高山镇的西部。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村地先在崇德乡平南里的范围内，清末划归高山镇；此后多次改隶，先后归属龙潭一带的乡级机构。1959年，龙潭大队中分出西叶自然村，另立西叶大队。1984年改设西叶村委会，1992年随乡改镇。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，西叶村获得「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，由福建省爱卫办确定。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中龙潭寺又称潭下寺，是福清地下游击队在大革命、抗日战争和解放战争时期使用过的据点，今存革命据点旧址。[1]
