地名由来[edit]
村舍东临瑟江港口岸，西濒后郑渡头，因多薛姓居住，故名薛港。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年，大队改为村委会，属高山镇。1961年，此地归高山公社。[1]
旧属崇德乡平江里，境内有凤池境。明代时它属平北里北二隅的第3图。1943年，此处划为薛港保并编14甲，隶高山镇；1950年，归入第七区薛港乡。[1]
文化[edit]
薛港堂地下联络站旧址位于本村。薛港堂原是村民祈神的庙宇，抗日战争和解放战争时期，它成为中共闽中地方组织及其游击武装的联络站与活动点。[1]
