西郑村隶属福清市高山镇，村民以郑姓为主，村名取自其位于涵谷村西部的位置。[1]

地名由来[edit]

宋代，一支族人从福州高湖村迁到福清高山镇的涵谷自然村，后又由涵谷迁至涵谷村西部定居。因系郑姓，村名遂称西郑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年，大队改为村委会，属高山镇。1958年，此地归高山公社，为西郑大队。[1]

明代此地在南下隅平北里下都之内。1910年，即清宣统二年，划归高山镇。1943年又设为三明保，隶高山镇，1950年归第4区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，省爱卫办将本村列为「福建省卫生村」。[1]
