竹秀村位于福清市高山镇所辖的村庄之中，村名源于邻近一片秀丽的竹林。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村落在一片景色秀美的竹林旁，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年9月，大队改为竹秀村委会，仍属高山镇。1958年，此地归高山公社，称竹秀大队。[1][2]
此地先前为平南里五十九都下的筠江境。民国时期（1943年）划出竹秀保，共15甲，隶高山镇；1950年归第四区竹秀乡。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，省爱卫办将本村列为「福建省卫生村」。[1]
