东进村隶属福清市高山镇，属镇乡结合区。村子1980年由「东山大队」改为现名。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子原名东山大队。因与漳州市东山县重名，1980年改名东进。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年9月，大队改为村委会，仍属高山镇。1958年，此地归高山公社，称东进大队。[1]

更早时，此地旧属平南里五十九都，境内有东山、北石、顶阳、巷田、瑶下等境。1943年设东山保，隶属高山镇；1950年归第四区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，省爱卫办将本村列为「福建省卫生村」。[1]
