高山镇是福建省福州市福清市下辖的镇，位于龙高半岛南端，与平潭岛隔海相望，镇区坐落在万底山上。[1][2]

全镇面积为40.5平方千米，镇名因万底山地势较高而来。[2][5]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，镇址坐落在万底山上，因山势高而得名。该山海拔71.8米，高出周围成片的滩涂。[2]

维基百科的说法略有不同，称镇名因镇政府所在的高山村得名，村所处的万底山地势较高。两说都指向同一座山。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

唐圣历二年（699年）此地直属福清县，当时号称五十九都。明代先后用西隅、南下隅、八一隅等名，清代仍称高山镇。[2][3]

镇区早先的街市移到上街，后又向中街发展。民国初年，印尼归国华侨集资兴建了邱厝街和水陆街，三条街自东向西连成一线。[3]

设镇的年份各书记载不一，博雅地名网与维基百科所记的起点各不相同，本条不作断定。新中国成立后，此地先后设高山区和高山公社，1984年改设高山镇。[2][4]

1997年，全镇面积为40.4平方千米，人口为6.1万人，辖23个村委会和高山居委会。[3]

2023年，全镇辖平南、凤岗两个社区居民委员会和23个行政村。[5]

平南社区原名高山社区居民委员会，2019年因与高山村重名，取高山镇旧属崇德乡平南里五九都中的「平南」二字改名。[6]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东与东瀚镇为邻，与三山镇相接，隔海与平潭岛相望。沿海村落多临高山港、瑟江港，周边海岸线绵长。[2][3][4][7][8]

人口[edit]

据百度百科，2017年全镇常住人口为73968人。[1]

经济[edit]

高山羊是福建的一种山羊品种，洋门村等村发展了高山羊的养殖。[4][9]

名胜古迹[edit]

龙高革命烈士纪念碑位于高山村的公园内。1947年，中共福清县工委与龙高、东张、琯口三个区工委发动群众、组织武装，筹备开展自卫游击斗争，博雅地名网记此事。[7]

薛港堂地下联络站旧址位于薛港村。薛港堂原是村民祈神的庙宇，抗日战争和解放战争时期，它成为中共闽中地方组织及其游击武装的联络站与活动点。[8]

荣誉[edit]

2014年7月，高山镇被确定为「全国重点镇」，同年6月获「国家级生态乡镇」称号，该称号为2012—2013年度的评定。[2]

2019年12月，高山镇被认定为「全国乡村治理示范乡镇」；2020年7月，全国爱卫会命名其为「2017-2019周期国家卫生乡镇（县城）」。[2]

2021年2月，高山镇入选福建省「2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]
