南芦村在港头镇内，与西芦村相邻。村名因早年卢姓族人由福建漳州永定迁入而得，后为书写方便定为现名。[1]

据博雅地名网，卢姓一支由漳州永定县迁来此地，村子原称南卢，后因书写方便，改作南芦。[1]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办授予南芦村「2021年福建省卫生村」，时间为2021年11月。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代此地归孝义乡化南里，境名泰溪、秦印；明代入北二隅化南里。清末1910年并入高山镇。1943年分为三甲，归西芦保。1950年划为第七区三山乡，1952年改为第十三区港头乡。1958年隶龙田公社，1959年建大队，1961年划给港头公社。1984年改成村民委员会，属港头乡，1992年乡改镇。[1]
