占阳村在港头镇境内，原名瞻阳，村舍面朝东方，可以望见日出日落。1964年，村名因读音相近改写为占阳。[1]

村舍朝向东方，可以瞻望日出日落，村子原名瞻阳。之后此名被改为与之读音相近的占阳。[1]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予占阳村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代这里属孝义乡化南呈，有瞻阳境；明代为北二隅化南里所辖。1910年村子归高山镇管理，1943年设瞻阳保并属化南乡。1950年编入第七区瞻阳乡，1952年改属第十三区，1955年9月转入三山区，1958年隶龙田公社，1959年建立大队，1961年归港头公社。1984年成为村民委员会，属港头乡，1992年乡改镇。[1]
