洋边村在港头镇西南，是镇区的中心村之一。渔平高速公路从村南穿过，村中有洋边、杭仔两个自然村。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在浅水洋边，故名洋边。[1]

概况[edit]

全村有二十一个村民小组。博雅地名网所载为713户、2708人，未注年份。耕地约868亩，主要种植水稻和蔬菜，养殖水产也是收入来源之一。村西部有大片耕地与养殖场用地。村内有村委会大楼、文体活动中心、一所小学和一所卫生所。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办在2021年11月把洋边村列为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时属崇德乡化北里上都，境名六成西；明代归东隅化北里上都。1910年划入龙田镇，1943年隶化北乡。1950年进入第七区，1958年先属第十三区，同年改隶龙田公社；次年设大队，1961年归港头公社。1984年村民委员会成立，属港头乡，1985年洋边村委会正式成立，由二十一个组组成，1992年乡改镇。[1]
