芦华村位于龙高半岛中部，北有福清湾，南有兴化湾，博雅地名网称其为港头镇最大的行政村。村中包括芦华、长沟两个自然村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子早先所在的海岸低洼处长满芦苇，村位于芦苇南边，故称芦下。后因方言读音相近，改称芦华。明代，村民由福州郊外迁来。[1]

概况[edit]

村中设有四个分支部，分别为东兴、西旺、南富、北强，村党支部获评「港头镇首批五星级党支部」。村域面积约1.5平方公里，常住人口博雅地名网所载为1916户、6658人，两项均未注年份。村内有一所中学和一所小学，并有一个农贸市场。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋朝时村落为崇德乡化北里的嘉福境，明朝归东隅化北里管辖。清末1910年并入龙田镇，1943年编成十二甲，同年设芦下保。1950年划入第七区芦华乡，1958年组建大队并隶龙田公社，1961年转入港头公社。1984年改设村民委员会，隶港头乡；1992年乡改镇，村也随之改为镇辖。[1]
