后林村在龙田镇南边，村域面积3.5平方千米，共有3个自然村。[1]

村名来历：明朝林氏先祖迁居此处，村子建在小山坡上，前面是一片大海，故称后林。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属崇德乡化北里上都，境名桂林，元代沿用；明代归东隅化北里上都4图，1910年划入龙田镇。[1]

1943年编为2甲，隶港头乡岑头保；1950年归第三区；1958年改隶龙田镇；1959年析出另立后林大队；1984年改设村委会。[1]

耕地面积858亩，共有15个村民小组。[1]
