村子座落在山岭前面，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属孝义乡隆仁里，境名嘉贤西，元代沿用；明代归北一隅隆仁里2图，1910年划入龙田镇。[1]

1943年编为30甲；1950年归第三区；1959年析出另立岭前大队，隶龙田镇；1984年改设村委会。[1]

人口[edit]

368户住户，居民1380人，7个村民小组，党员44人；生计以种植和外出务工为主。[1]

文化[edit]

2022年12月，村子被确定为「2022年度福州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
