闻读村位于龙田镇西北部，与海口镇相接，耕地面积3000多亩。[1]

村名相传与宋代朱熹经过此地的故事有关：他听到有人在读他所注、当时被朝廷禁止的《四书》，深受感动，便挥笔写下「闻读」二字，村因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先前隶属崇德乡福唐里，境名增福，元代照旧；明代归北一隅3图，1910年划入龙田镇。[1]

1943年编为13甲，隶福塘乡；1950年设闻读乡；1959年改为龙田镇闻读大队；1984年改设闻读村委会。[1]

人口[edit]

住户780户，约3400人，划分为18个村民小组，党员共97人。[1]
