村子建在刘唐山的南侧，因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先前隶属崇德乡福唐里，境名凤池，元代照旧。明代归北一隅福唐里，1910年划入龙田镇。1943年编为15甲，属龙田镇福唐乡，称南山保。[1]

1952年隶第三区，设南山乡；1959年改为南山大队，1984年改设南山村委会。[1]

人口[edit]

全村约8000人，其中渔民约4000人，多以捕捞蛏、蛤为生，在外经商的约1000人。[1]

2022年10月，村子列入2022年淘宝村名单。[1]
