东垣村是城头镇下辖的行政村，村名由旧时东贵、前垣两村各取一字合称而来。[1][2]

村庄旧名东元村，曾下辖五个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代归感德乡永宾里，明代隶属南上隅永宾里，1910年划入海口镇。1943年设东垣保与南星保；1950年属第二区。1958年并入星桥大队，1960年改组为东垣大队并归海口公社；1961年转属城头公社，1984年设村委会，1990年随乡改镇。[1][3]
