城头村是城头镇下辖的行政村，位于福清湾北岸，三面临海，历来是水上交通要冲。村名因靠近海边、离城头最近而得名。[1][2]

相传隋开皇年间，当地为抵御海盗而修筑围墙，靠海的东南角另开一座城门。村中以海蛎为主要出产。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代隶属感德乡永宾里，明代归南上隅永宾里，1910年划为海口镇辖地。民国后期至1952年，村庄先后处于第二区与第十一区，属城头乡管辖。1958年城头大队归海口公社统辖，1961年转由城头公社管理，1984年改设村委会。[1][3]
