城头镇是福建省福州市福清市下辖的镇，位于市境东北部，距市中心约14公里，辖1个社区和26个行政村。[1][2]

镇名相传来自隋开皇年间为防海盗而在村庄四周修筑的城墙，村东南临海处另建一座城门。镇境内有宋代的五龙塔桥，以及唐代创建的龙卧禅寺。福建省爱卫办于2020年12月授予城头镇「福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[1][3][4][5]

历史沿革[edit]

唐、宋、元时期，今镇域属感德乡，分设水宾、方成、新安、方民四里；明清两代以永宾乡为基层建制，直到1949年。[1]

1950年组建城头乡；1952年后归海口人民公社管理；1961年改称城头人民公社。1984年公社改乡，1990年代初撤乡建镇。[1]

据2023年福清市镇街行政区划一览表，城头镇面积为70.5平方千米，辖1个社区、26个行政村。[2]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻、红薯、花生、大豆为主，镇内有面粉、啤酒、棕榈油、电感元件等企业。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

五龙塔桥位于五龙村，建于宋代，1988年被公布为县级文物保护单位。[5]

龙卧禅寺位于湖美村五龙山下，据百度百科，寺创建于唐咸通五年（864年），初名伽蓝寺，宋乾道三年（1167年）重建并改称龙卧禅寺。博雅地名网的景点页另记其年代为明代，1988年被公布为县级文物保护单位。[3][4]

1933年至1949年9月间，闽中游击队的黄国璋、林汝楠、陈亨源等人在龙卧禅寺一带从事地下革命工作，该寺即闽中游击支队第5大队驻地旧址。1987年11月，此旧址列入福清县文物保护单位名录。[6]
