历史沿革[edit]
明代村地属西隅永福里，清宣统二年（1910年）归永福乡。1943年设云中洋保，隶属后连乡；1950年设云中乡；1958年建立云中大队，归城关公社管辖。1961年至1978年间，村地先后属音西与宏路两个公社。[3]
1984年改大队为村委会，1990年乡改为镇，1997年云中村委会改称云中洋村委会，2005年随镇改设街道。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
解放战争期间，福清县委机关和闽中游击队曾驻扎在岭口自然村的戴氏宗祠内，这座宗祠今为中共福清县委机关岭口村驻地旧址。该村是革命老区的基点村。[1][2]
