音西村隶属音西街道，是一个行政村，地处福清西郊新城区的中心地带。村名取自合并前的音埔与西林中两个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

音埔与西林中（今林中村）两个自然村合并为「音西保」，合并的年份，博雅地名网作1947年，百度百科作1952年，两说并存。合并后的音西保辖九个自然村，即今音西村的前身。[1][2][3]

据博雅地名网，这九个自然村原分属音西乡和观石乡，包括霞盛、广林、溪前、杨厝、桔围、音埔、林中、东桥和园中。[3]

1949年福清县解放后，音西保先后改称音西乡、音西村。1984年9月，音西大队改为音西村；1990年11月音西乡改为音西镇；2005年12月音西镇改为音西街道，村随之归入。[3]
