溪下村位于宏路街道南部，西临324国道，东与福清玉融大桥相连，龙江与关溪两条河流穿村而过。[1]

地理环境[edit]

龙江、关溪两条河流贯穿村境，两河水清石结，古时有“玉溪”之称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历：阳光照耀两河，时有彩虹出现，故又称“溪霞”；“霞”与“下”在福清方言中音近，后书写简化为溪下。[1]

明代属东隅善福里，清末归修仁乡东张镇，民国时属瑶峰乡观音埔保。1950年代初归观石乡，1958年并入城关公社的溪南大队。1980年，溪下自溪南分出，另设大队；1984年改设村委会，隶宏路镇。2005年，宏路镇撤镇改设街道。[1]
