东坪村位于宏路街道南部，跨324国道两侧分布。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代以前，此地称板坪村，因村落位于牛头山北坡的一块平地上而得名。村民多为董、颜二姓，村名改为董颜村；后颜姓衰微外迁，“颜”与“坪”在方言中音近，遂演变为董坪村。清初郑氏迁入，人丁兴旺，董姓渐渐迁出。1958年，村干部认为“董坪”与村中实情不符，改为东坪，取“东”字日出、蒸蒸日上之意，此名沿用至今。[1]

宋代属永福乡善福里，内有仙董、玉河两境；明代属东隅善福里；清末为修仁乡所辖，民国时属东坪保，归东张镇宏路乡；1950年时属茶亭一区宏路乡；1958年并入城关公社的联光大队。[1]

1961年划归音西公社，设东坪大队；1970年改归宏路公社；1984年大队改为村委会，取名东坪村委会；2005年12月划入宏路街道。[1]

村内设有一所完全小学和一个医疗站。[1]
