观音埔村的名称来自此地后方环山、前有河水、中间地势开阔，遍地生长观音草，先人在此开垦，遂称观音埔。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1980年，观音埔从原大队划出，另设观音埔大队；此后随公社改镇、大队改村，1987年设立观音埔村。[1]

2005年，观音埔村自宏路镇划入龙江街道；同年12月30日，龙江街道正式挂牌成立。[1]
