霞楼村早先是村民在江边搭草楼捕鱼虾的地方，草楼被称作虾楼，谐音而为下楼，后改取霞光映照高楼之意，定名霞楼。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代归南上隅新丰里，清宣统二年（1910年）改属新丰乡。1943年分出15甲设立霞楼保，隶属融城镇；1950年属十区并设霞楼乡；1956年归茶亭区；1958年设霞楼大队，归城关公社；1984年由大队改为村委会，属音西镇。[1]
霞楼村于2005年12月30日随龙江街道设立而划入该街道。[1]
2020年9月，阿里研究院公布「2020年淘宝村」名单，村庄入选；其后，阿里研究院与南京大学空间规划研究中心于2021年10月共同公布「2021年淘宝村」名单，村庄再次入选；2022年10月，「2022年淘宝村」名单发布，村庄上榜。[1]
霞楼村于2022年10月经福建省农业农村厅认定，列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
