下梧村的名称源于旧时此地作为一支吴姓大族仓库的历史：看守仓库的人渐渐在此安家，聚成村落。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地在明代归南上隅新丰里管辖，到清宣统二年（1910年）改隶新丰乡。[2]
1979年从原大队分出一块，另立下梧大队，划归音西公社，驻地设在下吴自然村。1984年大队改成村委会，隶属音西乡。1990年音西乡升格为镇，2005年12月镇又改为街道，村随之划归龙江街道。[2]
下梧村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办评定，列为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
