名称由来[edit]
村中原有一座坊，是往来行人必经之处，村因此得名「坊里」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代属太平乡永东里，明代属东隅永东里1图，清宣统二年（1910年）属永东乡。1943年属海口镇元龙乡，时称坊底保，为驻地，分为5甲。[1]
1950年起先后隶属第二区与第十区的里美乡，1955年划入海口区里美乡，1956年改归海口区柏渡乡。1958年9月隶属海口公社里美大队；1980年分出另立坊里大队，1984年随公社改镇。2005年12月起属龙山街道。[1][2]
