玉屏街道地处福清市城区的中心位置，是福清市人民政府的驻地，由福州市代管的福清市下辖的一个街道。名称取自城区内的玉屏山。[1][2][3]

按2023年的行政区划，街道辖区面积7.3平方千米，管有18个居委会（社区）和1个村委会，村委会为石井村委会。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

福清古称玉融，城区一带也称融城。据百度百科，唐代此地属太平乡，1955年9月设立城关镇。[1]

1992年5月改称融城街道，2005年12月经省政府批准，融城街道改为玉屏街道。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道东面以东门路与龙山街道为界，南面隔龙江与龙江街道相望，西面与音西街道相连，北面与阳下街道接壤。[1]

人口[edit]

据百度百科，2011年末街道总人口约15万人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

园林豆区园的始建年代为明万历时期，最初是明代首辅叶向高的宅园，兼作书院，占地近两百平方米。园子后院立着闲云石，是一块高约4.9米的海蚀花岗岩屏风。[4][5]

1981年2月，豆区园连同闲云石被列为福清县第一批文物保护单位。园址如今是福清市博物馆的所在地。[5]

荣誉[edit]

2021年2月，街道入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[3]
