地理环境[edit]
村域约5平方千米，海域面积达万亩以上，耕地为500多亩。[2]
辖区内有猴屿、萝萝屿两个岛屿，鸡公山、寨尾山环抱村庄。[2]
人口民族[edit]
全村共16个村民小组，人口2500多人，户数近700户，常住人口约1600多人。[2]
经济[edit]
村民以养殖海蛎和农耕为主，多数村民外出打工或经商。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年8月设西海大队，1961年分队，改称跨海大队；1984年，大队改设为村委会。[1]
2012年迁至跨海小学。自2021年起，村子由金井镇管辖，原归北厝镇。[1]
