北山村在福州市永泰县白云乡西南中段，海拔约530米，地处丘陵，交通较为便利。东侧与丹云乡相邻，西侧接石岸村，南侧接岭下村，北侧接星联村。[1][2]

村名来源于永泰北区一块高山上的平地，旧称“北山洋”，后简称北山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1915年至1935年，该地归北区管辖。清代，北山属中和乡光德里十七都。1961年成立白云人民公社北山生产大队，1984年起转为白云乡北山村委会。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积9.2平方千米。一条永泰通往丹云的县道穿过村境，村里有三座小型水库，灌溉渠道1300米。村中设完小一所，医疗所两所。[1][2]

人口[edit]

村中有380户、1262人。村下六个自然村名为江源、院后、洋尾、砚洋、寨河、洋头，共分18个村民小组，村民全是汉族。[1][2]

经济[edit]

耕地950亩，粮食能够自给。种植李果、月柿、青梅，另有苦瓜、黄瓜等菜类；槟榔芋的种植也较多。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月把北山村定为「2021年福建省卫生村」；同年12月，村子获得「2021年度福建省森林村庄」称号。[1]
