白云乡在福州市永泰县西北部，东侧是丹云乡，西侧是红星乡，南侧连着清凉镇，东北与闽侯县为邻，西北和闽清县相衔。县政府网站把全乡分为13个行政村，并统计出53个自然村。[1]

乡里山林广阔，森林覆盖率较高。乡政府驻在白云村，姬岩景区属省级重点风景名胜区，是乡里最主要的景点。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

白云乡地处永泰县西北，地势较高，气候温润，水源丰沛，属丘陵山地。全乡面积111平方千米。耕地共16632亩，平均每人约1.2亩；林地12.5万亩，木材蓄积18万立方米，森林覆盖率为78.5%。[1][2]

人口[edit]

县政府网站记载，乡里常住人口为3025人，户籍则有12943人、5109户。乡内设18个党支部，共有党员430名。[1]

经济[edit]

乡里以水稻和蔬菜为主。槟榔芋、茭白属于名优蔬菜，另有夏阳白、苦瓜、青瓜等反季节菜品，茶叶、李果、青梅也有一定规模。姬岩茶的历史据说超过八百年。[1]

近年来乡里建起农业生态观光园、花卉基地、蔬菜基地及中药材基地，把农业与旅游、康养结合起来。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

姬岩景区为省级重点风景名胜区，其最高处玳瑁山，海拔1237米（另一说法是1238米）。景区早先称飞岩，其名一说来自五代闽王王妃葬于此地，另有仙人炼丹、五鸡守卫的故事。景区以山峰层叠、云雾缠绕见长，有独木桥、罗汉岩等二十余处天然奇景。[1][3]

景区中的姬岩寺，宋政和年间（1111年）开始建造，明清两代曾经重修，大雄宝殿保留了明清风格的部分。石壁上留有朱熹、黄任等人的题刻。[3]

县政府网站所列乡内旅游资源还有白云古街、白云狮子山风景区、白云仁量麋鹿园，以及竹头寨、北山爱心寨、力钧故居、岳家庄等寨落。[1]

文化[edit]

白云自宋代起文风兴盛，仅白云村一村便出了42位进士（县政府网站统计）。[1]

首批58位名人中，福州三坊七巷有白云籍的3人（力钧、黄任、黄展云）；永泰联奎公园的16尊名人塑像里，白云籍占4尊。黄文焕所在的家族，历经十一代，成员做官至县长及以上。[1][4]

著名人物[edit]

清末医学家力钧，出生于白云乡，1889年中举，后入宫为慈禧与光绪帝看病，获授四品卿衔。[5]

清代诗人黄任，生于1683年，卒于1768年，祖籍即今白云乡境内的永福一带。康熙四十一年中举，雍正年间任广东四会县令。[6][7]

明天启五年进士黄文焕，是明末诗人、学者，做过海阳、番禺、山阳知县，官至翰林院编修，墓葬在白云乡。[4]
