南坪村位于霞拔乡南端，东与下园村接壤，西与周坑村（东洋乡）交界，北邻富洋村。村域高低相差很大，低处是海拔380米左右的小盆地，高处有907米的山峰。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子古称福州府永福县二十二都南阳境。始祖于清初自泉州府德化县迁入，至今已有三百余年。[1]

人文[edit]

清嘉庆至光绪年间，村中的长泰厝出过“一堂四代+秀才”的记载，同一科中，同一屋宇内有两人中秀才。[1]

风景[edit]

村南的南口之端有麻公殿古迹，村北门之后有金钟山景点。[1]

产业与荣誉[edit]

解放前，村中用幼竹造“海纸”；解放后发展李果、茶叶，竹编、草编与建筑业也颇有名气。永泰县人民政府网2024年7月的报道称，本乡形成了南坪茶叶的“一村一品”格局。[1][2]

2005年，村子被评为福州市扶贫帮困先进村。[1]
