前湖村在县城西北，与县城相距76公里，离乡政府约1.4公里，村内有2个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名最早称前路，因村内主干道位于一片湖形地的前方，后改称前湖。[1]

清代时属和平乡应达里三十六都。1958年，前湖并入嵩口公社盖洋管理区，设为前湖生产大队；1961年改属盖洋乡人民公社；1984年设前湖村委会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村民以种植业和劳务为主要收入，水果种植面积700亩，李果为主要果品。[1]

文化[edit]

2015年10月，前湖村入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2019年6月列入「第五批中国传统村落」名录。2021年11月，前湖村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

2022年10月，省农业农村厅把前湖村认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2023年12月，前湖村被认定为福建省一村一品专业村，以李果为主导。[1]
