历史沿革[edit]

1915年至1935年间，村地归中区管辖；此前清代隶属中和乡龙津里二十五都。[1]

1958年，念后划入梧桐公社的白叶管理区，编为念后生产大队；1961年赤锡人民公社成立，念后仍为生产大队；1984年，设赤锡乡念后村委会。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名村子为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

文化[edit]

村名的由来：村中程氏先人迁来此地时在家中排行最小，迁居后常怀念故乡，村名「念后」由此而来。[1]
