淡油村位于永泰县西南部，属赤锡乡。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，村地属中和乡龙津里二十五都。1915年起至1935年间属中区。[1]

1958年，村子归梧桐公社白叶管理区，设淡油生产大队；1961年赤锡人民公社组建后，改由其管辖，仍称淡油生产大队。1984年，村委会改为赤锡乡淡油村委会。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名村子为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

文化[edit]

村名的由来：旧时白叶村的郑姓地主常到此地游览，乡人称之为「郑游」；后因方言音近，演变为「淡油」。[1]
