赤锡村位于永泰县西南部的大樟溪畔，是赤锡乡的行政中心，乡政府驻此村。[3]

村内有203省道与福永高速穿过。界竹口水电站水库在境内形成湖区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，村地是中和乡龙津里的二十五都之地；1915年起至1935年间属中区。[1]

1958年，村子归梧桐公社管辖，其下有赤锡管理区，村为该区的赤锡生产大队；1961年赤锡人民公社成立，村仍叫赤锡生产大队；1984年起，设赤锡乡赤锡村村委会。[1]

2021年11月，村子被福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1] 2023年2月，村子入选「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1] 2024年12月，村被认定为「福州市2024年市级“一村一品”专业村」，主导产业为槟榔芋。[1]
