高盖山北麓、马头寨山脚下有一个规模较大的村子，叫尤墘，海拔六百多米。村子离大洋镇政府一公里，四面的邻村依次是际尾、苍霞、凤阳和棋杆。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

村子地势稍向一侧倾斜，俗称山墘。相传明代有尤姓人家在此定居，村名因此而来。[1]

祠堂与古迹[edit]

村内住有蔡、戴、胡、蒋四姓，多为明永乐二年前后迁入，其中蔡姓人数最多。现存蔡、戴、胡三姓宗祠各一座，蔡氏宗祠规模最大，收录于《中国名祠》。[2][3]

村内另有后塆宫、文昌阁和一座清代古民居。村中的油杉松树龄六百多年，为县级保护古树。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年1月，尤墘村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
