明灯村位于梧桐镇东北部，面朝五虎山，距镇区约5公里，距县城约30公里。村落面积3平方千米，辖6个自然村、24个村民小组。村名的来历与1958年合作化时期的初级社有关。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子位于桂林格山的山坡下。1958年合作化期间办起初级社，群众觉得它如同光明灯塔，于是取名“明灯”，并称“明灯大队”。1961年改属梧桐人民公社，1984年划入梧桐乡，1989年归梧桐镇。[1]

2021年11月，村里被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有格尾寺庙和自和寺，村周有望月山瀑布，溪中可漂流。[2]

姓氏宗族[edit]

村中陈氏一族居多。始祖陈守连据称来闽寻得此地，携全家迁入，至今已千余年，族人分居各地。[2]
