历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，此地原由里氏开发，村中有小块洋田，故名里洋。1984年，里洋改设为嵩口镇里洋村民委员会。此前的1961年它是嵩口人民公社的里洋生产大队，1958年属嵩口公社管理区，1955年称嵩口区里洋乡。清代属中和乡感应里二十九都。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村落依山而建，民居错落，富有南方山地建筑特色；村中有林木与旅游资源。东湖尖海拔1680米，被称为福州第一高峰。[1][2]
人口民族[edit]
村中有陈、李、兰、郭等姓氏。其中大坪自然村为单姓郭氏的聚居地；兰姓为畲族，保留着畲族的传统与民风。[2]
文化[edit]
村里在2022年12月获「2022年度福州市中级版绿盈乡村」称号，并在2015年10月被纳入「福建省第一批省级传统村落」。[1]
