月阙村属嵩口镇，村名源于早年村民祖厝门楣形似月缺，因“缺”与“阙”方言读音相近，遂写作「月阙」。[1]

村落面积12.88平方千米，辖1个自然村和15个村民小组，村内道路通往永泰、闽清、德化等方向。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代这里属和平乡英达里三十四都。1936年至1948年归南区嵩口联保管辖，称月阙保。1984年，此地设为嵩口镇月阙村民委员会；此前的1961年它是嵩口人民公社的一个生产大队，1958年则先归嵩口管理区管辖。[1]

经济[edit]

村中农户多种李干、柿饼与板栗，其中李干和柿饼远销海内外。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中的下车碓厝是一处清代建筑群，由郑昭德于清咸丰年间始建，最初为利用水车动力的碾米厂。2018年，它被列入「福建省第九批省级文物保护单位」。[3]

村内还保存着十余座古民居建筑群，雕刻工艺细致。[2]

文化[edit]

2016年12月，月阙村列入「第四批中国传统村落」名录；2015年10月，入选「福建省第一批省级传统村落」；2021年11月，月阙村经福建省爱卫办确定，获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
