前洋村位于福建省福州市闽清县下祝乡西北方向，距乡政府约5公里，全村面积5.4平方千米。[1]

村名的来历是：本地人称平地为「洋」，村后另有一个名叫后洋的村，此村位于前面，故称「前洋」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代归奉政乡安仁里，元代为十九都之下的前洋村，明代与二十都等合为一图，清代属怀德乡前洋村，民国时为杉村洋前保。[1]

1950年隶后洋乡，1952年改为前洋乡。1958年至1961年间依次归火箭公社、东桥公社，1961年划归下祝公社前洋大队。1984年乡政府成立后，前洋成为乡属村委会。[1]
