洋头村位于福建省福州市闽清县下祝乡东南方向，距乡政府约4.5公里，全村面积3.3平方千米。[1]

村名的来历是：群山环抱之中有一块平坦的田地，当地称田地为「洋」，民宅都建在田洋上部，故名「洋头」。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办公示拟命名洋头村为福建省卫生村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代归奉政乡安仁里，元代为十九都的洋头村，明代与二十都等同归一图，清代为怀德乡洋头村，民国时属杉村乡洋前保。[1]

1950年代先后设洋祝乡、洋头乡，1958年与1959年分别归火箭、东桥两公社。1961年改隶下祝公社洋头大队，1984年乡政府成立后，洋头成为乡属村委会。[1]
