后峰村是下祝乡下辖的行政村，位于乡境东南方向，距乡政府约17公里，全村面积9平方千米。[1]

村名的来源与村民的居住格局有关：先民迁到尖峰岗（又名观音坐道山）一带，住在前面的称前房，住在后面的称后房，方言中「房」与「峰」音近，后演变为「后峰」。[1]

2020年12月，后峰村列入2020年度福建省森林村庄名单。[2]

2023年12月，福建省卫生健康委员会公示拟命名福建省卫生村的名单，后峰村列于其中。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属奉政乡安仁里，元代称十九都后房村，清代为怀德乡的后房村，民国时属杉村乡祝岭保。[1]

1950年划入第二区梧峰乡，1956年改属东桥区。1958年为火箭公社的后峰大队，1959年改隶东桥公社并称梧峰大队；1961年下祝公社成立后恢复为后峰大队，1984年设为下祝乡的后峰村委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中垱狮岩壁上有「留云」石刻，据所载为朱熹题刻，题写时间不明。该石刻列入1998年公布的第五批文物保护单位名单。[4]
