大墘村位于上莲乡境内，原属佳头乡，2004年随佳头乡并入上莲乡[2]。
地名由来[edit]
清代，吴姓人家迁到此地，在大片田埂上建房开垦，村名因此称「大墘」，沿用至今[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
明清时此地称十二都隔头村。民国时在秋园保的范围内，归双兰乡管辖。1950年设秋园乡，隶第四区，此后再归池园区。1956年改为高级社，1958年在此设佳头农场的第一分场。1984年建乡时，这里改设大墘村委会，隶属佳头乡政府。2004年佳头乡并入上莲乡，本村随之改隶上莲乡[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」[1]。
