地名由来[edit]
民国时期，这里分为上寨保与莲埔保两个保；建国后两保合并为一村，各取一字，组成村名「上莲」[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
明清时这里为十二都。民国时期设莲埔保，隶双芝乡。1950年改设上莲乡，属第四区，此后归池园区管辖。1958年，本地划为上莲大队，归池园公社。其后归属几经变动：1961年并入上莲公社，1964年回到池园公社，1980年再隶上莲公社。1984年7月，本村改称上莲村委会，并归上莲乡人民政府统辖[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2024年1月，本村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」[1]。
