竹岭村的村名来自合并：1964年，竹下、岭尾两个大队合为一个，村名从两村各取一字组成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属奉政乡安仁里，元代属二十都的竹下、岭尾村，明代与二十一都等六个都合编为一个图，清代属怀德乡，民国时属下洋乡新南保。[2]

新中国成立后，此地起初在第二区新桥乡之下，中途改隶高港乡（后归东桥区），1956至1957年又回到新桥乡。1958年设竹岭大队，隶火箭公社，1959年划归东桥公社。此后经历分设与合并，于1964年定型，长期保持不变。1984年东桥乡政府设立，竹岭成为其属下的村民委员会。[2]

2022年12月，竹岭村入选「2022年度福州市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]2023年12月，竹岭村获评「2023年度福建省森林村庄」称号。[1]
