村后村位于东桥镇北部山区。村名最初为“村后堡”，源于村后的一座土堡；方言里“堡”“埔”读音相近，遂写作“村后埔”。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村内山地较多，以农业为主，属于典型的农业村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属奉政乡安仁里，元代属二十都的村后埔、马山村，明代与二十一都等六个都合编为一个图，清代属怀德乡，民国时属下洋乡新南保。[2]

新中国成立后的数年，村子隶属第二区新桥乡；1955至1957年为东桥区新桥乡的一部分；1958年随新桥大队归火箭公社，1959年改由东桥公社管辖；1963年单独设立村后大队。1984年东桥乡人民政府成立后，村后成为该乡属下的村民委员会。[2]

2003年实施造福搬迁工程，全村迁往过洋村鹅头山一带。[1]

2022年12月，村后村被确定为「2022年度福州市中级版绿盈乡村」；2023年2月，村后村列入「第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
