山限村四周群山环绕，只有三处山口与外地相通，村名原作“三限”，后因读音相近改称“山限”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地属奉政乡安仁里，元代称二十一都山限村。明代与二十都等六个都合编为一个图，清代为怀德乡的山限村，民国时划入下洋乡的芝山保。[2]

解放初期，村境先归一区的大安乡，继而归二区，1955年又改在东桥区下的大安乡管辖。1958年为火箭公社，并单独设立山限大队；1959年改归东桥公社；1964年并入其他大队，1977年恢复本村大队名称。1984年东桥乡政府设立，山限成为其属下的村民委员会。1998年，村民迁至新建的山限新村。[2]
