历史沿革[edit]
该村历史上称桥头，也称下省汾。宋代属永宁乡盖平里；元代称八都桥头村；清朝归旌良乡，仍名桥头村；民国时编入合龙乡的省璜保。[1][2]
新中国成立后，上省汾、下省汾、璜兰、前峰四个核算单位在公社化时期并为一个大队，从两个大村的名字中各取一字，定名为省璜大队。1984年选举建乡后，这一大队成为省璜乡政府领导下的村民委员会，2000年12月乡改镇。[1][2]

据博雅地名网的村情介绍，全村有人口689人，下辖四个自然村，设8个村民小组。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有八都合龙桥，为县级文物保护单位，始建于南宋乾道年间，详见省璜镇条目。[3]
