池园镇是福建省福州市闽清县下辖的镇，位于县境西南部，距县城约29公里，镇内设1个社区、19个行政村[1][3]。镇名的来历据传与一位清代迁来此地的商人有关：长乐人陈德和到此经商、定居并开垦养殖，其后人便以原籍的村名为此地命名[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
宋代此地大部分属永宁乡下的仁寿里，元、明两朝划归十一都。清顺治十七年（1660年）闽清改设二坊五乡，十一都并入淳化乡[2]。民国初年，池园大部分地区归第四区第五团管辖，1940年6月成立双芝乡，下设十个保[2]。
1949年8月闽清解放后，双芝乡改隶第四区；1950年5月双芝乡与保甲制度一并废除，当时第四区辖有包括池园在内的十三个乡[2]。1955年5月，原属尤溪县的东洋等三个村划入闽清第四区，此后不久，第四区的名称便改为池园区[2]。
1958年9月，池园与上莲乡合并组成人民公社；1961年又分为池园、上莲两社，1964年上莲社回并池园，1980年复设两社[2]。1984年7月撤销人民公社体制，公社改为乡镇，大队改为行政村，镇下辖十九个行政村的格局延续至今[2]。
2021年2月，池园镇列入福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单[1]。2023年12月，福建省爱卫办公示拟命名池园镇为福建省卫生乡镇，博雅地名网载其于2024年1月被命名为2023年福建省卫生乡镇[1][8]。
地理环境[edit]
池园镇的面积，博雅地名网作约89.5平方公里，百度百科作106.68平方千米，两家所据不同，本条两说并存[1][7]。
镇域与白中镇、金沙镇、省璜镇、塔庄镇、坂东镇相邻，南面连着上莲乡，西面与尤溪县汤川镇接壤[7]。
人口民族[edit]
2020年第七次全国人口普查时，全镇乡村人口为8910人，其中15至64岁的有5874人，65岁及以上的有1413人[4]。
经济[edit]
池园境内主要矿产为高岭土，陶瓷产业因此较为发达[5]。镇内有瓷器厂和水电站，农业以水稻为主，兼产茶叶与水果，博雅地名网如此载明[1]。
文化[edit]
闽清池园陶瓷制作工艺已列为福建省非物质文化遗产。池园陶瓷在清乾隆元年以后，吸收德化与广东的制瓷方法，又引入景德镇的技术，逐渐形成本地特色[6]。传统制作以瓷土为原料，釉水用石灰、谷皮与泥浆配制，全部手工工序有二十多道，尤其擅长特型器与碗类产品[6]。
名胜古迹[edit]
镇内池园村西南约500米处有一通明代嘉靖年间立下的石碑，碑上刻「还盛」等字，石碑因此称为「还盛」碑[5]。
