白中镇是福建省福州市闽清县下辖的镇[1][4]，位于闽清县中南部，东南与坂东镇相接，西南连池园镇[3]。镇政府驻田中村。

历史沿革[edit]

镇名取自原人民公社驻地白汀村与田中村的村名，各取一字而成[2]。宋代，镇域内部分村落分属奉政乡的宣政里和金沙里；元代属贺恩里；明代仍分属宣政里、金沙里；清代，田中、白汀、前坂等十五个村庄归绥来乡管辖[2]。

民国时期，这些村落设有普贤、保汀、田中、演珠、前攸、王石六个保，隶属清溪乡[2]。此后这一带先归第三区管辖；1955年改由金沙区管辖；1957年区制撤销，此地设立白中乡，仍属县辖[2]。

1958年，村庄改设大队，归红旗公社，次年划入白中公社。1984年7月，公社改称白中乡人民政府，1990年乡制改为镇制[2][3]。

2023年末公示的福建省卫生乡镇拟命名名单中有白中镇，次年初正式命名为「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」[6][2]。

地理环境[edit]

白中镇面积，博雅地名网记为41.8平方公里，百度百科记为43平方千米[2][3]。梅溪、芝溪流经境内，古嵩公路过境，镇政府距闽清县城21公里[2]。

人口民族[edit]

据2020年人口普查，白中镇乡村人口11749人，其中0至14岁2023人，15至64岁7849人，65岁及以上1877人[5]。

经济[edit]

镇内的工业企业以日用瓷、建材瓷、包装纸和机械设备为主，另有建筑公司；农业以水稻、红薯和水果为主产[2]。
